On 29 June 2017 in Warsaw, Zortrax and Bosch Mondeville signed an understanding with the aim of developing a new, innovative 3D printing product. This is another cooperation option investigated between the Polish 3D printer manufacturer and the French production plant of Bosch corporation.
A press conference by Zortrax and Bosch Mondeville at the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw saw the signing of an agreement aiming to develop a new innovative 3D printing product. The understanding was signed by Zortrax CEO Rafał Tomasiak and – for Bosch – Théophile Guettier, 3D Project Leader at Bosch Mondeville. The event was attended by Undersecretary of State in the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Piotr Dardziński.
The companies entered into cooperation in 2015, when managers and engineers at Bosch’s factory in the French Mondeville plant decided to take advantage of 3D printing technology. They chose Polish Zortrax 3D printers from among the many solutions available on the market. This choice was dictated by the best quality-to-price relation, the advanced precision of the offered 3D product, and its reliability, convenience, and simplicity of operation. Time has shown that both the decision to start 3D printing at the factory and the choice of supplier were right, as evidenced by the results of implementation. Bosch’s representatives stress that Zortrax M200 3D printers have not only improved numerous technical production processes but have also saved many thousand euros in just a few months.
Another example of this cooperation is the Zortrax Z-ESD 3D printing material. This material protects electronic equipment from electrostatic discharge, offers low shrinkage, and is resistant to the effects of chemical substances. These properties make it perfect for professional and industrial purpose as, for example, elements of production line machinery, all types of electronics casings or prototypes which need to be resistant to effects of chemical substances and electrostatic discharges. This material was developed to respond to the need of Bosch’s engineers working at the Mondeville factory, which produces electronics and mechatronics components for the automotive industry.
“The understanding signed today between Zortrax and Bosch Mondeville is the next step in developing the beneficial cooperation between our companies. History shows that it has profited both parties,” said Zortrax CEO, Rafał Tomasiak. “Our new objective is to cooperate on 3D printing, to respond to real market demand,” added Tomasiak.
“Thus far, our cooperation with Zortrax has been excellent and has saved us a lot of money, but it has also improved numerous production processes. We contemplate to pursue the feasibility study in view of taking the cooperation to the next level,” said Théophile Guettier, 3D Project Leader at Bosch Mondeville. “Zortrax has extensive experience in developing top quality 3D printing solutions, which is what motivated this partnership.”

The plant receives a major recognition of the French industrial ecosystem.
The French renowned magazine “Usine Nouvelle” organized together with the Boston Consulting Group and Autodesk a benchmark aimed at rewarding the best industrial initiatives of the country. After visiting the plants of several major industrial actors, the jury unanimously decided to award the prestigious prize to Mondeville focusing on its operational excellence, the maturity level of its digital transformation, its successful diversification into new markets, and the quality of its social dialogue. The members also valued the implementation of I4.0 tools in the shopfloor to improve productivity and maintain productions in France.
